TIME CAPSULE NY® came to me while brainstorming potential cultural backings for an apparel company. As a fashion enthusiast, my favorite brands to wear have not only used the highest quality of fabrics, but stood for something much bigger. Something that truly captivated me. Something that could speak for me without saying a word. A Bathing Ape (Bape), Billionaire Boys Club/BBC Ice Cream, Supreme New York & Uniqlo (specifically the collaborative pieces with visual artists I’ve personally enjoyed the work of) are a few of the brands that sparked my initial interest; however, several years into my journey as a fashion hobbyist I decided it was time to create something of my own. A brand that would not only resonate with those who enjoyed the same video games, movies, shows/animes I grew up playing/watching, but also with those who are currently enjoying the same originals and their sequels.
Simply put, high quality apparel tailored specifically and devoted to gamers have remained an untapped facet in the fashion industry. Wearables with custom cuts that are super cozy for gaming at home, yet stylish enough to wear out with a logo that not only represents our favorite pastime, but also invokes a sense of commonality amongst those who recognize and share our interests and values. Before anything else is said, I feel Japanese culture as a whole needs to be mentioned here. Everything from video games to my love for Japanese architecture & interior design styles. From anime to some of the foods I enjoy most. I simply wouldn't be who I am today without Japanese culture.

With that said, in the process of self-reflection I decided that video games would most heavily influence the vision. Particularly those I still enjoy and/or feel have played a role in molding me into the creative that I am today. Pokémon™, Super Mario Bros.™, Super Smash Bros.™, & Golden Eye 007™ serving as my benchmark staples, an eye for quality (or lack thereof lol) had been properly developed. These particular video games also epitomize the insignificance of a game’s visual graphics. In essence, that it is what’s on the inside that matters most. A sentiment engraved as a Cyclone Studios™ core value.
Another force behind the conception of Time Capsule NY® was my profound enjoyment of sci-fi narratives. Ready Player One, a novel written by Ernest Cline for example, undoubtedly influenced the structure of my ENCAPSULATIONS™.

Real-world Easter-egg hunts for TIME CAPSULE NY® merchandise and/or collectible high-ticket items. The prizes will be hidden inside my high-grade, stainless-steel time capsules. Vintage Pokémon playing cards are an example of the artifacts to be found during an ENCAPSULATION™. Eventually with the incorporation of collaborations, my hidden time capsules will contain the merchandise of other brands that share similar values as TIME CAPSULE NY®. Everyone & anyone can participate in my ENCAPSULATIONS™ in the attempt to collect their prizes. Imagine if you will, the launch days of Pokémon Go™. Streets flooded with people of all ages who simply just wanted to "catch 'em all." The key difference being that my ENCAPSULATIONS™ will lead to the acquisition of priceless physical and/or virtual collectibles. The possibilities for TIME CAPSULE NY® are limitless and it's so much more than your typical streetwear brand. It is a real-life video game. It is nostalgia in physical form. It is deeply rooted New York City pop-culture, and it's an imprint on the times we live in and the times to come. It's for you.
